Our Region

Known famously as the Golden Outback, the Goldfields region is the largest in Western Australia. Aptly named, this region is home to major gold mining towns including the likes of Coolgardie, Kalgoorlie-Boulder, Laverton, Menzies (and of course Norseman). Contrasting the red dirt landscapes, this region boasts picturesque coastal escapes along the Nullarbor Plan and Esperance.

Filled with history, the communities of the Goldfields started with hopeful pioneers who came with the dream of finding gold in the late 1800s. Facing the harsh conditions of early pioneer life they worked to build what we know today.

You’ll see character everywhere you look when driving through this region. Add gold prospecting and fossicking to your bucket list. From historic buildings & tours, ghost towns, salt lakes and nature walks, there’s no shortage of sights to see and things to do.
