Norseman Heritage Trail
If you are looking for a half day activity, the Heritage Trail features 10 stopping places along the 25km between Norseman and the original township of Dundas. The full circuit is approx. 50km - we suggest allowing at least 2 hours (and as much as half a day) to fully appreciate the experience.
First used as the original road connecting the former Dundas townsite to Norseman and Esperance, Old Coach Road now stands as a heritage trail for tourists to discover what once was. Featuring 10 different sites, the 25km trail leads from the Norseman townsite to the Coolgardie-Esperance Highway. Highlights of the trail include the Break O'Day Cricket Pitch, Dundas Rocks and the remains of the old ghost town.
Each site features fascinating interpretive stories that help build a picture of life in the early years along Old Coach Road. Some sites have picnic areas and other have walking trials.
We recommend stopping at Dundas Rocks for a lunch time picnic.
The trail sits on an unsealed gravel road and is suitable for 4WD and AWD vehicles. Always drive to conditions.
