Granite and Woodlands Discovery Trail

The Granite and Woodlands Discovery Trail offers 16 designated stopping places, each with quality interpretation focussed on a particular aspect of natural or cultural history. Some sites have walking trails, while others have picnic and/or camping facilities.

Highlights of the Trial include

- McDermid & Disappointment Rocks

- Lake Johnston Picnic and Area and Campsite

- Dundas Rocks

- The Breakaways Campsite

- Woodlands Walk

- Wave Rock

The Granite and Woodlands Discovery Trail passes though relatively remote county and there are no town between Hyden and Norseman. Plan your fuel and provisions carefully.

The Trail is 300km of unsealed gravel. Always check for road closures on both Shire of Dundas (link road report page) and Shire of Kondinin ((link road report page) websites, as the road does get closed due to wet weather. Always drive to conditions.
